De ja vu
Puk could hear the sisters Ming&Lu bailing on and off ahead.
Puk is a real handful once she knows the dogs are on a pig, she was dragging me along trying to pull my arm out of it's socket, you see Puk is an out and out holder, she can find pigs sure, but she just tries to hard once there, you could describe her as a sprinter, she just explodes into the bail and latches onto the pig, know-one tries harder than her, the trouble is holding a 100 plus pound boar that is trying to kill you can be exhausting.
She never barks, never complains, and has the sweetest nature but when her and the pig meet she locks on to an ear or front leg and holds on till she can't stand, sometime suffering rips from the boars tusks and that's why I don't like to let her go till I'm about 200meters from the bail.

We had walked into some vines so I let the lead go to untangle it, "see you later" Puk said. I tried to call her back but her mates were calling and she just has to help out, I was worried as the lead was still attached to her and could get caught up, not to mention when trying to hold a big boar the last thing you need is a bloody rope under you feet tripping you up.
Puk
We had landed at the jetty in the Dingy earlier, Ming just took off straight up the hill, I had Puk&Lu on leads, got the pups Chi&Jude ashore, then tied the boat up, climbing up the hill after Ming I noticed there was Pig Rooting everywhere so decided to let Lu go, 5 minutes later I heard Ming start bailing, then when Lu arrived there was some squealing, must be a small pig I thought so I hung onto Puk, then when I was close I tied Puk up to a small tree, then went to dispatch the small sow that Ming and Lu had hold of, Puk flew past me towing the small tree and latched onto the sow, bloody hell what could I say.
Leaving the sow to pick up later we set off up the hill as by the look of all the Rooting there where a lot of pigs in this mob. I let Lu&Ming run hoping they would get onto another pig scent, the GPS tracker was playing up and cutting in and out, bugger!
Anyway I keep moving in the direction I thought the dogs had gone, finally getting them on the unit 500meters away, oh no De ja vu from two days ago, he we go again I thought, I could hear the odd bark so that was some help, up we went and this is the point Puk gave me the slip in the vines, shit the others were 500meters away and still moving, whenever Puk is away to the bail I worry, so this time I was really concerned, as my time for 500meters is not what it used to be.
On I charged, trying to get to the dogs, I had to cross one really shitty steep sided creek, I had crossed it before but had trouble finding the crossing, looking at the tracker I could see the dogs and pig had now crossed the next creek and stated climbing the following ridge, when I looked again they had started to come back down thankfully, know-doubt Puk had arrived as she has that affect on pigs, it's easier dragging a 40lb Rottweiler/cross that is attracted to your body down hill than up hill, not to mention I was getting buggered so seeing the dogs coming back down suited me.
I was worrying about Puk, so moving as fast as I could around the hill the dogs were below me now in the creek bailing flat out, and what a shit spot, sheer sided with no way down handy, down the hill I went, but I still couldn't find my way down into the creek, I could see the dogs Bailing a good boar below a small waterfall, (this was like De ja vu because the girls had bailed a boar in the exact same spot a while back), up and around the side of the creek I went, I still couldn't find a way down, I could see the boar standing in the creek Ming&Lu Bailing flat out as they sensed I was close, no sign of Puk tho, so I thought I will try a shot, Bang! pig just seemed to get angrier so I reloaded Bang! down he went the creek ran red with blood Ming&Lu jumped on the boar feeling very brave now he was dead.
But where was Puk? I managed to find a way down into the creek and made sure Ming and Lu were ok, had a look at the tracker it said she was 200meters up the hill not moving, shit, so up I go hoping she had just got her lead caught up in the bush, finally a few meters away from where the tracker said she was a very wobbly dog walked out, it was Puk she looked drunk and could hardly walk, I checked her over and no major injuries, I have seen her like this before, she just goes till she is completely exhausted then the body shuts down, man was I pleased to see her and after a few minutes she walked back to the pig with us, she is now sleeping by the fire tonight after having her wounds cleaned up, the least I could do.
