margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">There was a guy waiting out-side, I said, "we could be waiting a while" he said crossing his legs, "I hope not", the door opened, someone came out looking a bit flustered, the man entered what I thought was the women's side (there are two doors) but on closer inspection it turns out the Electro Lu is unisex (equality gone mad), the other door opened so in I go, the Lu started talking to me in an American accent and as the yanks seem to talk the most crap it was kind of fitting, "please lock the door" he said (maybe the girls get a women's voice), you push a button that glows to lock the door, if this button is still working next time I go to town I will go he, the yank tells me I have ten minutes, "then what I think?", will it call the police, maybe the door will just fly open, maybe it's an ejector Lu that shoots you out into Picton harbor once your times up, looking around I notice a space in the wall great idea the urinal doubles as a hand basin now that's a space saver, I suspect the girls never gave it a thought till now and may never wash there hands again, rain drops keep falling on my head starts playing while I'm thinking the urinal could be a struggle for the vertically challenged.

I was there for the number two's tho, but there's was a metal door laying on the seat, someone had jimmied open the toilet paper dispenser and to be honest who could blame them, this thing would be better described as a paper shredder, so after helping myself to 30 meters of paper I closed the door and sat down I had a slight problem the door to the toilet paper dispenser wouldn't stay shut and was laying in my lap! I don't know about you but I found having a cold stainless steel door laying in my lap while sitting on the Lu kind of annoying, plus I am the hands free type or should that be, head in the hands type, either way having to reach out to hold this door closed with my hand one cheek being off the seat, was just asking for trouble, I had an idea, I set about stuffing my bag through the handicap handle to hold the metal door closed, the clock was ticking folks as I sat there listening to rain drops keep falling on my head picturing myself flying through the air into the Picton harbor.

Pork-Chop's

My old mate Pork-chop asked me out for a hunt this morning, "sure," I said, great chance to get my pups some more experience, "meet you at the punga cove saddle at 5.45am then," he said.

The alarm went off 4am, I must be mad I thought, can't be, if I was mad I wouldn't be thinking I must be mad would I, kettle on and a few stretches for my 39 year old body, quick breakfast and out to let the dogs off, they where even looking at me like I had put the clock back 2 hours at daylight saving, "come on you lazy mongrels we are going to meet uncle Pork-chop".

Getting around out the sounds is a little different than the city, no public transport, infact no roads in the inlet. I pushed the dingy out with the dogs wiping the sleep out of there eyes, 25 minates later I was across the inlet at punga cove with the dingy on shore, up the hill on foot to the saddle where porkchop picked me up, we head for one of his old hunting spots.

We pile on the four wheeler and up the hill we go with the dogs Brin, Muzza, Mr Mo, kudda and my two girls Ming&Lu close behind, we left the bike and started walking up the hill, a couple of the dogs away tracking something, so I was sent by Pork-chop to bring the bike down and around to the next property while he went up and around the ridge.

20 minutes later I could see the dogs on my GPS tracker about 500 meters away up the hill, then heard barking, more barking and bailing now, off I go up the hill on the bike, stopped and could see ming was close by so called her, she walked onto the track with a deep rip in her back leg and another to her other leg, that one just missed her tendon (male wild pigs have tusks and are quick to use them on a dog given the chance) the barking up the hill had stopped I hoped the pig hadn't given Porkchop the slip, unlikely as not much gets past him, (there's a rumor he even sleeps with one eye open), anyway after inspecting Mings rips off I go up the hill with her on the back of the bike, around the corner here's Porkchop and the rest of the Dogs walking towards me, Chop is covered in blood, "how did you get on," I said. "Got a good boar up around the corner," he said, (meaning he had stuck the pig with a knife and killed it) so up we go and there laying on the track is Mr Boar (pick below on the bike 120lb boar).

Down on the beach we cleaned and stapled up Mings rips (she is now lying by the fire). So all in all a great day apart from Ming getting ripped, but a good lesson for her, she is a smart dog and will give Mr Boar a bit more respect in the future.
<div style="font: 18.0px Lucida Grande; type='html'>ETS

Had plenty of reading time lately , "The Worse journey in the world" "Deep Future" and lastly "The Future Eaters" have come and gone, all fantastic books but the The Future Eaters stayed with we and is the sort of book you savor towards the end.

We continue to delay, put off till tomorrow, the ever increasing problems of living on a finite planet and looking back, as this book does, it gives us a clear picture of what the future has in-store for the human race and our planet, the Nat's recent announcement that they will again be watering down our ETS is another blow for the future generations, this legislation was meant to be sending clear signals to everyone that there is a price to be paid for the continued burning of fossil fuels, their excuse this time will be the world wide recession, that you could argue is mostly the result of the price of those very fossil fuels, the planet is sending us the messages, the signs are all around us, we just have to open our eyes.

The problem for this Government is every day the world is starting to see, to quote Lincoln: "You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time." The resent move to the left in Germany, Denmark and now France should be a clear sign to the politicians that the time is nearly here for some major world wide changes.

Here in new Zealand we have always prided ourselves on not being afraid to change/adapt, with rolling up our selves and getting on with the job when needed, of doing our bit and a bit more, this is how I would like to think of myself as a New Zealander.

This current government though has done nothing but take soft options from day one, rearranging the chairs for nearly three years now, their announcement they intend watering down our ETS but another example that they are not our leaders at all, just self interested and weak.

From the Worst Journey in the world: "For we are a nation of shopkeepers and no shopkeeper will look at Research which does not promise him a financial return within a year."
<img width='1' height='1' front of the idiot box (TV) with friends watching the News. There isn't a night goes by when I haven't had to endure something about the newly wed Royals, I forget there names , the balding one with the bulimic stick insect wife, you know the two.

Calling me an anti Royalist would be putting it mildly, as I have said before, I wouldn't let either of these two smell my shit for free. On a couple of occasions recently, I have had to speck up while enduring a news items on these two parasites, basically saying 'what the hell are we wasting electricity watching these two for', while laughing at their antics, and to my surprise I find woman jumping to there defense.
<div style="font: 18.0px Lucida Grande; In my eyes, this is all part of the Rights social control of women agenda, yes plenty of men buy into the rich famous guy gets the girl dribble as well, plus the men are superior myth of-course, but they don't fall to the extent women do.

Anyway turned the corner to walk down to the swing bridge, it was still half dark, looking in the paddock and started thinking that looks like a pig, "No I thought" it has to be a calf, No it's a bloody pig, Ming was straining at her lead, shit the bloody pig starts walking towards me, what the fuck bev must have a new pet pig, the pig just keep walking towards me, should I shoot it? No! I won't be popular shooting Bevs pet pig, so off I go at a jog up to Bev's her dogs start nutting off and she comes out, 'Bev do you have a pet pig? No! She said, well there's one in the paddock with the cows. Pigs Fucken everywhere she said, shot the bloody thing.

So off I go, her dogs are still nutting off, I run down the hill the pig is still in the paddock, so I throw the dogs over the fence and am thinking this could turn into a fuck up, three cows and a Pig what's the bet the dogs start chasing the cows around, I managed to shepherd them in the direction of the pig and then it was all on, the dogs bailing the pig, the pig having a go at them, anyway I walked over then shot the sow, she was very old by the look of her, dogs then started eyeing up the cows so thought I better keep going, left the pig on the track and carried on.

Very wet in the bush this morning and had a poke around the bridle path, then up the other side of the valley, anyway after stumbling around chasing the pups I finally ended up half way up the hill, these bloody pups will be the death of me, they just keep running all day, around towards the creek on the right, in the manuka, the place I always say I like to Pete, I sat down to have a snack.

One kiwi fruit later I thought I should just have a look around towards the creek, lots of fresh rooting!, suddenly ming was off up the hill, so I let Lu go as well, as I had started walking her otherwise these two just run together all bloody day. Next thing 2 or 3 pigs run right past me, one was a big black&white one, Pups in hot pursut altho I didn't think they would stop them, I was a little knacked at this stage, but the adrenaline started pumping dogs barking now and then, down the hill I go, got back on the track then saw on the tracker they where way down, so off I go straight after them they had hit the bottom track up from the bottom paddock and then gone through the greek and around and up the road , so up I go and around the corner and half way up I can see they have gone over the side and into the creek heading into the native, around I go, I can here the Pups bailing hard out about 300 m away in creek , worked my way around the face and down to the creek, Pups going nuts not far but can't see them, I climbed out of the creek and almost at the next ridge Pups barking flat out and bailing hard out, I drag my 39 ear old ass up the bank and here they are, they have a boar bailed, Bloody great to watch, pig having a go at them then they rush the boar, boar chasing them, them chasing the boar, anyway I got a clear shot as the boar charged them, Lucky I hit it with Pork Chops doggy gun, you just have to remember to aim 6 inches high and 6 inches to the left, chop.

America

I just recived this from the New Zealand Zeitgeist movement and thought I should post it.

Kia ora Friends

On May 1, 2011 Pres. Barack Obama appeared on national television with the spontaneous announcement that Osama bin Laden, the purported organizer of the tragic events of September 11th 2001, was killed by military forces in Pakistan.

Within moments, a media blitz ran across virtually all television networks in what could only be described as a grotesque celebratory display, reflective of a level of emotional immaturity that borders on cultural psychosis. Depictions of people running through the streets of New York and Washington chanting jingoistic American slogans, waving their flags like the members of some cult, praising the death of another human being, reveals yet another layer of this sickness we call modern society.

It is not the scope of this response to address the political usage of such an event or to illuminate the staged orchestration of how public perception was to be controlled by the mainstream media and the United States Government. Rather the point of this article is to express the gross irrationality apparent and how our culture becomes so easily fixed and emotionally charged with respect to surface symbology, rather than true root problems, solutions or rational considerations of circumstance.

The first and most obvious point is that the death of Osama bin Laden means nothing when it comes to the problem of international terrorism. His death simply serves as a catharsis for a culture that has a neurotic fixation on revenge and retribution. The very fact that the Government which, from a psychological standpoint, has always served as a paternal figure for it citizens, reinforces the idea that murdering people is a solution to anything should be enough for most of us to take pause and consider the quality of the values coming out of the zeitgeist itself.

However, beyond the emotional distortions and tragic, vindictive pattern of rewarding the continuation of human division and violence comes a more practical consideration regarding what the problem really is and the importance of that problem with respect to priority.

The death of any human being is of an immeasurable consequence in society. It is never just the death of the individual. It is the death of relationships, companionship, support and the integrity of familial and communal environments. The unnecessary deaths of 3000 people on September 11, 2001 is no more or no less important than the deaths of those during the World Wars, via cancer and disease, accidents or anything else.

As a society, it is safe to say that we seek a world that strategically limits all such unnecessary consequences through social approaches that allow for the greatest safety our ingenuity can create. It is in this context that the neurotic obsession with the events of September 11th, 2001 become gravely insulting and detrimental to progress. An environment has now been created where outrageous amounts of money, resources and energy is spent seeking and destroying very small subcultures of human beings that pose ideological differences and act on those differences through violence.

Yet, in the United States alone each year, roughly 30,000 people die from automobile accidents, the majority of which could be stopped by very simple structural changes. That's ten 9/11's each year... yet no one seems to pine over this epidemic. Likewise, over 1 million Americans die from heart disease and cancer annually - causes of which are now easily linked to environmental influences in the majority. Yet, regardless of the over 330 9/11's occurring each year in this context, the governmental budget allocations for research on these illnesses is only a small fraction of the money spent on “anti-terrorism” operations.

Such a list could go on and on with regard to the perversion of priority when it comes to what it means to truly save and protect human life and I hope many out there can recognize the severe imbalance we have at hand with respect to our values.

So, coming back to the point of revenge and retribution, I will conclude this response with a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., likely the most brilliant intuitive mind when it came to conflict and the power of non-violence.

On September 15, 1963 a Birmingham Alabama church was bombed, killing four little girls attending Sunday school.

In a public address, Dr. King stated:

“What murdered these four girls? Look around. You will see that many people that you never thought about participated in this evil act. So tonight all of us must leave here with a new determination to struggle. God has a job for us to do. Maybe our mission is to save the soul of America. We can't save the soul of this nation throwing bricks. We can't save the soul of this nation getting our ammunitions and going out shooting physical weapons. We must know that we have something much more powerful. Just take up the ammunition of love.”

- Dr. Martin Luther King, 1963 -

~Peter Joseph

They now call it The Supershity

Yes Auckland's new nick name.

I heard a piece on the radio this morning about the amount of Cow Shit that flows into Auckland water supply each day and it suddenly dawned on me maybe thats way they call them Jaffa's, because there going brown on the inside , then someone said no it's because they are generally full of it.

The Busy People

The busy people.

You know the ones, sorry too busy to talk, (not that I give a F... or want to talk) but too busy to talk? This is normally said by one's mother who, like all
mothers (!), she thinks the sun shines out your ass and would like nothing
better than to see you slaving 24 hours a day to feed and house some of your devil's spawn.
The evil mothers - they are responsible for most of the world's problems
believe me.

My mother is great and I love her. Yes I said it, I love my mother.
Not that I have any idea what love means. Luckily my mother has a sense of humor (and after having four children who wouldn't have a facken sense of something. like time to get on the pill for Christ's sake).

The way I see things the mother's selfish genes drive the whole show, and I mean the whole show. I have been called selfish for not wanting to have
children. This is completely ass backwards logic in my mind. I know it is
our selfish genes that drive us to reproduce and then when the big mother
finger is being pointed at me "you selfish prick" and I'm thinking "All I
have done is keep my prick in my trousers and now I am a selfish prick?"
Mothers don't like selfish pricks, they don't like you waving it about in
public either. But watch out - their genes are begging for a show behind
closed doors. It won't cost you much, just your shirt and a life time of
obedience. A small price to pay my friends.

Hoovers

Vacuum cleaners or Hoovers as the Americans call them, not that they are Americans at all they are United States Citizens and this week they are doing my head in Vacuum cleaners that is, I picked one up at a dump a few years ago on my trip around the north island $2 at the dump just out of KeriKeri, cheap I thought but the thing just wouldn't suck and in the end fell apart, just gave up the ghost, a bit like most of my relationships, some times I wonder if the Citizens aren't a lot like my old vacuum cleaners they tend to make a lot of noise and look great plus the man selling them promises a lot so you sort of think you won't have to work any more after you have one, lately I have been wondering if people think these machines come with a bag that never needs to be emptied, as people (mainly females around here) can't seem to work out that if the hoover stops sucking then shaking it and yelling has little or no affect at all 'It's not a child girls I say' so beating the crap out of it will get you know-where, unlike the americans of-course as they don't tend to book in again next season.

Pines' Kiwis

<div style="font: 18.0px Lucida Grande; Anyway the male of this pair swears he heard Kiwi's calling in the night while staying at the Lodge, now this male lets call him Pete well he didn't come down in the last shower in-fact he is so smart his wife goes to work while he stays home all day keeping house, now I here all you girls crying that's hard work staying home all day talking on the phone! well girls I call bullshit, so when Pete says he heard Kiwi's calling in the night I had to investigate. I was a bit skeptical him being a ozzy but a smart ozzy as I have mentioned.

Well inspector Burgoyne was called into investigate after having no luck finding which of the 'grass cutter nutters' sprayed the girls front garden, that case is still open but his confidence was a little shaken! Well I hadn't given the Kiwi's another thought till a few nights after Pete left I awoke to the sound of Kiwi's calling in the night, now I started thinking how much wine had I drunk that night not much that I remembered but that's not always a good sign, anyway the next morning I sent out a email to some of the members of the conservation trust we have set up here in the inlet, I think most of them where thinking they will be sending the men in white coats for Burgoyne soon, one even suggested it was probably Moa this time of year! everyone's a bloody comedian all of a sudden.

Two nights ago I awoke to the kiwi's again and went in search of the mysterious Pine's Kiwi it was a windy night with inspector Burgoyne hot on the tail of the kiwi, I could hear the high pitch calling down below, it was after midnight, while creeping down to the bottom house the calling was getting louder and louder it sounded like the Kiwi's where having a little party on the deck of the bottom house I switched on the touch and all I could see was the new hammock swinging in the breeze squeaking like a farmer on pay day.

The Realist

I have been called a lot of names in my time and to be honest have always subscribed to the old saying "sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me" but lets start with Greenie this one I have been called a lot in the last few years and it makes me laugh that people have to find names for people especially people that make them feel uncomfortable or guilty, they usually use it as a put down as the Greenies are stupid people that don't subscribe to the let's eat all the cake now because if we don't the next one will, growth, growth, growth, mentality. In-fact I am a Realist not a Greenie once it dawned on me years ago that there is no "Man" in the sky pulling all the leavers and that humans have evolved like every thing else on this planet I began looking at the plant in a whole different light, we do have and are having a huge impact on the planet and anyone expecting God to come and save us in my opinion should be locked up in a padded room with Oprah Winfrey for the rest of there life, some might enjoy this so I look at it as a win win situation, but I digress calling me a Greenie is a way of saying he is just another pot smoking Socialist and thats not true either because I don't smoke pot, like I have said before I am in the Bill Clinton club (Bill said he had smoked pot but didn't inhale, so that didn't count (anyway it make me paranoid, maybe I think what was that?) also he said he never had sexual relations with that women) and if you can't trust the president of the USA who can you trust, Now calling me a socialist is a bit rough I don't even like people and would be quiet happy if they all just pissed off to mars and left me alone when people knock on my door I don't think great someone has come to visit, I think who the hell is that interrupting my piece and quiet (unless of-course they are built like Raquel Welch looking for someone to sew there bikini strap while they wait). Now you will be calling me Sexist (Greenie,Socilist,Sexist) well yes I am Sexist I am a man for Fak's sake and quite like women, I don't like talking to them much but I say girls save your talking for your girl friends (if you have any) or the next time you chat with Oprah!, Greenie,Socilist,Sexist indeed.

P/S After my last post I had people asking me 'are you ok Rod?', piss off I have a few black days now and then that's normal people, the one's that are happy all the time watch Oprah or are or should be locked up !

I hate Xmas and I'm not sorry

It seems like a race at times doesn't it, the race to consume, consume more than anyone else , time to take a look around you suckers at all the worthless shit you have accumulated that has been sucked out of the earth just for you to take to the dump with your empty sad life's. Now just about everybody I talk to has there head still stuck firmly up there ass by the way, hang on not the ......you know who you are. maybe it's just they all have televisions "Michael FrantiS band: Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy. wrote a song called "Television, the drug of the Nation". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qA5faeCGg-w Breeding ignorance and feeding radiation ... this song rocked my world and made me start to think about this and that , I read a lot about Climate change over the years it is fascinating science and I love science and the way it works science has brought you just about everything you possess today plus your health but when these guys come up with an idea that will cost you money or more to the point cost the oil companies and car manufactures money we don't like it , So we want to have a little cry and say that's not true go away. you see we have been lied to from childhood the tooth fairy, father xmas, the hansom prince and the happy ever after all lies so it's know wonder when people start telling your the truth you just don't believe them, wake up now pull your head out of your ass, if nothing else things will smell better.

Here are some quotes I like enjoy.

Unfortunately Mike the rest of the world is to PC. We tend to doubt everything , organized religion plays a big part in the spreading of doubt as doubt is all most religions have left in the face of science. The Chinese tho don't have to consult the people they just act. They are mostly Buddhists also. So when things go wrong I suspect they don't all run down to the church and pray like most of the deluded fools in the rest of world, they just get on with it.
All power to the Chinese I say. They might yet be the only chance we have of saving the planet , I am not saying they will pollute less than the rest of the world but when the shit starts hitting the fan they will be able to act and hopefully the rest of us will follow .

The CCD’s deny that it is happening at all in the face of all of the evidence to the contrary – after all they seem to be armed with the enduring faith of stupidity. The stupid are always with us actively trying for the rapture, unfortunately also trying to drag us with them to the brink of idiocy.

"It’s not about ‘more’ and ‘less’, it’s about fundamentally different. The yardstick of comparative difference based on material consumption needs to be smashed up and thrown away. Which means – just to spell it out – that we need to stop measuring our lives on how much we consume as though that was a measure of meaningful wealth or well being.
Or maybe you’d rather settle for the comparative advantage of that gin and tonic…"

There is an unstated assumption here by some that physical laws are only true or useful if they can be explained. This is a logical fallacy.
Try this thought experiment: “Explain Gravity”. That’s right, you can’t because no human has yet expressed a coherent theory which includes both Relativity and Quantum effects… But do you still believe in Gravity? Even without a thorough explanation? And you can yourself a Skeptic!
However, most reasonable people DO believe in Gravity. We use Math to describe it’s effects, without knowing what ‘it’ actually is. We predict it with sufficient precision to travel in Space with confidence. The point is, current Science is good enough to take actions that risk Human life, all without waiting for a ‘better’ theory of Gravity.
Science always progresses through these three stages: 1. Description; 2. Prediction; 3. Understanding. We can measure the effects of CO2 on Climate, and we can predict future effects due to increased CO2 concentration. These two alone are sufficient to make informed Policy choices on Climate change.
Instead, we are now on an carbon emissions path that will take us into Terra Incognito, where even Computer models fear to tread. There is no precedent for where we are going, nor any good reason to go there.
Rhetoric foisted by greedy Corporations and enabled by Corrupt Politics has led us away from the simple fact that adding trillions of tons of CO2 to the atmosphere is warming it. We must turn away from that future. And that means we must ignore the Siren song of the Skeptics, Disinformers, and Inactivists. Science shows us with confidence that they are wrong.
P.S. Thoughts and Hope go out to the Miners trapped in the Pike River Coal Mine, and to their families.

Similarly we almost all know the colour yellow exists without being able to in any way define on a spectrum precisely where it ends and orange or green begins, or whether other people see what we call yellow as what we’d call yellow!
We know all sorts of things without ever being able to ‘prove’ them to the pedantic satisfaction of the likes of Grant.
So does Grant.
Asking ‘how can you prove CO2 contributes to the warming of the atmosphere’ is very much like asking ‘how you can prove God didn’t create the world in 6 days’, and is every bit as much the wrong question as asking whether yellow exists if you can’t define it’s boundary with green. We know CO2 heats the atmosphere because it does. Check around and you’ll find even Lord Monckton having to defend this most basic reality from the zombie hordes he himself has called into being! We might well debate the extent and duration of the resulting temperature impact – not always usefully – but debating the basic physics dumps you squarely onto the off-ramp of the freeway of ideas.
(I live with someone whose particular take on Aspergers frequently leads him to challenge the very possibility of the very existence of the very something that just bit him on the knee. A lot of ‘skeptics’, while I am scarcely in a position to diagnose a similar affliction, certainly manifest much the same perverse logic!)
We also all just accept that other people know how it works. All the time.
Further; it’s a logical fallacy that any degree of doubt necessitates inaction. We all have insurance policies. We’d almost all take the advice of the 9 specialists who recommended immediate surgery to stave off death within weeks over the one who says ‘ah, but it hasn’t actually grown for a week and a half now; just let the tumour go to see what it does for a couple of months – who knows, perhaps it will heal itself?’

So people: If it looks like a duck, it quacks like a duck and it swims like a duck its a bloody duck!

good luck .

Dogs

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_4GA0Cfh4aa4/TNPWdYj_e8I/AAAAAAAAAD0/kBW_rpss0EQ/s400/dogs.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5536004167266433986" />

Get a dog they said, great company, well now I have three dogs so I plan to be three times less lonely than anyone else. Dogs are decedents of wolfs did you know, they have only been around for the last 30,000 years, you see we tamed a wolf somewhere along the line and we humans then started to breed all kind of wolfs form her, by that I mean we took dogs/wolfs with certain characteristics and breed them together and mixed them again and again till we then got all kind of breeds , so dogs are a human creation, we shaped them into what they are today, i find this fascinating and as i am very interested in evolution, this can be held up as a classic example of how animals can change in time and over time. so now i have Goldie, Ming&Kawa, Pete didn't think much of the pups names but what's a name anyway , my name is Rodney but I feel like a woman, when I say I feel like a woman thats not to say I'm gay it's just something us guys feel like, 'a woman' and it's been a long cold winter out here so yes a woman would be nice about now or some time in the future, well at-least before I go completely to the dogs. Shit I seem to have got off topic again I really wanted to talk about the Hobbit yes 'The Hobbit'.
Yes smile and wave saved the day and basically forked out a few more million (of our money) to buy some more jobs with the tax payers money.
The movie business is a funny old thing isn't it really, out here in the wop's we don't have a movie theater you would have to go to Belnheim to watch a movie, I think they have a theater there, but hey it wouldn't surprise me if it had closed down, the town just has that feeling about it, like it just needs a big line of coke a cola bottles. I have been know to call Blenheim the arm pit of NZ 'sue me', but i degrees, it's the hobbit we are all talking about, I read the book and the others and good fiction it is, but it seems to me we are making castles in the sand again, the movie industry is about making $$$$$$$$$$ and maybe some thing to entertain a few fat asses. The movie industry is in this case about making a fiction (make believe) movie about a fiction book (make believe). So there you have it a movie about nothing, about a book about nothing, shit we must be stupid, we spend Millions of dollars on this stuff it's like we can't live without it, the whole industry is built on nothing but $$ it creates nothing really does it and at the end of the day try eating a DVD , you can't even wear this thing ten years later and look cool.

Time

Imagine having enough time to think, I have now and my blog is where some of that thinking lends itself to words.
Most people have little time to think and for them it's better that way, believe me. once your alone with your mind and have time to look at your life things can get a little scary.
Firstly loneliness comes along, this is nothing but self-pity in my opinion, you are felling sorry for yourself because you are alone, get over it I say, or do something about it, you have been alone the whole of your life really and you will most likely be alone when you die, unless of-course you blow yourself up on a bus full of christens "now thats going out in style", and all those virgins, although really the stupid muslims have this all wrong as well, it should be 72 hookers, partying with 72 virgins is going to be ok but 72 hookers would be much more fun I would guess, not that I would know being a virgin myself.
So on to my other pet subject this week 'Sport' funny word, good on you sport, your a good sport, sporting a little leg there, "spoil sport" now thats me! this is normally someone that points out what a bloody waste of time whatever you are doing is and sport has to be the biggest waste of our time there is. The government love it of-course, if you are fit they can get more work out of you, more work, more tax, more productivity, you are so busy running around trying to beat everyone and following your team you will have no time to think what a frankin waste of time this sport thing is .
I used to play sport, thats what you did in my youth, but I alway suspected something wasn't right, but never really understood what was going on till now, it all starts at a young age the dumbing down doesn't it, when our stupid parents encourage us to start competing with each other, run faster, jump higher, you have to be number one, an A student etc, what a load of crap, and we spend a huge amount of time and effort competing with each other, shit just look at the commonwealth games, what a waste of time and money. Now I have played sport as thats just what you did isn't it, but what is the bloody point, so I can say I was better than you on that day, whippy, after you win it's over, but hang on you say you can make money being first at your sport and I would say yes we have made a whole stupid industry out of sport but it creates nothing, nothing but a bunch of losers, but hey you say you can make money and people can be entertained by your winning or losing, shit that's right people pay money to watch other people winning and losing, for every winner there are thousands of losers is this the reason we watch sport because we are mostly a bunch of losers, sure some of you have won now and then but basically we are all a bunch of losers and that's because of sport.

Shaving

Talking to an old friend of mines wife the other night (well I guess she is a friend of mine too, but I'm a bit suspicious of friends wife's after one put her hand on my knee one night and whispered in my ear) anyway I must of told my friends wife that I was getting old, she said 'your not old'. When I was 25, people my age 39 (I have been 39 for 6 or 7 years) where old and as I don't think I am going to live forever like most of the population/suckers, I am happy to say I am getting bloody old. My back aches, I have something called calcification of the shoulders, my hair hasn't just turned grey it has fallen out, you know I was once told ' Rod if you keep doing that you will go blind' and I said can I just keep doing it till I need glasses, nobody mentioned the hair falling out, more lie's . People will say but Rod you've had a misspent youth, to many drugs, shit I can hardly remember my youth, I take more drugs now than I did ever did in my youth, I have little pill bottles by my bed, thats right did I mention about my high cholesterol, 'that's right my cholesterol is getting high' and I have to take some more drugs to keep it from 'getting high', cholesterol gets a bad rap in my book, to start with the name conjures up images of blocks of lard and the fat lying in the frying pan the next morning after cooking sausages the night before and some of the press it gets like cholesterol kills, cholesterol the silent killer. You can't blame it for getting a little high now and then.
Hey but not to worry if that kills me there is alway the after life, the problem I have here is all the people that are convinced there is a afterlife are not the type of people I want to be partying with, sitting around having cups of tea is not my idea of a good time. Here's a little gem I picked up somewhere "The chief problem about death, incidentally, is the fear there may be no afterlife . a depressing thought, particularly for those who have bothered to shave".

P/S

Bye bye Paul Henry

Wonderful news, for those of you that have a TV you won't have to put up with the bigoted, sexist, wanker, Paul Henry anymore, as I don't have a TV and avoid getting any news from the main stream media, I haven't had to endure the prick hardly at all, only on the odd occasion when I stay somewhere there is a TV and they happened to be watching the pillock . We don't need the Paul's Henry/Homes of this world, they seem to view themselves as superior by nature of there skin color and sex, good bye and good riddance.

Noise

It's the school holidays and i had my two nephews staying all last week, we went fishing and pig hunting in between the rain, lots of fish, but no pigs, no pigs for a while now in-fact.
I find a few days with children the best contraceptive I can buy, puts me of sex for any amount of weeks, I have never been that keen on having children myself, to start with I am a man and it's biologically impossible, also I cant see the point in spending thousands of hard earned dollars and 20 years of my life raising someone so I no longer have to mow the lawn! yes thats right because as you know I don't have a bloody lawn.
They where at it again today the crazy crass cutters, they arrive on holiday and the first thing they do is mow the figging lawn, maybe it's just to quiet here for a lot of people and without constant noise the demons start to whisper in there ear's, 'why mow the lawn it will only grow back again, you should be sitting back with a beer in your hand taking shit with your friends, instead you are cutting that evil grass again you fool. The grass-cutter nutters only stay about a week, as it's just to quiet and that dam weed won't grow fast enough, they have to get back to the city and work to pay for that private schooling for there future lawn mower pusher, but before they go, yes you guessed it the morons just give the evil weed a quick going over, couldn't have that crass getting long now could we what would the neighbors think, well you know what this neighbor thinks.

Grass

Some people smoke 'Grass', and to be honest this seems to me the only thing it is good for, not that I smoke it of-course that's against the law. You could say I'm in the Bill Clinton club when it comes to drugs&sex, but I do enjoy a good cigar!
The sun was out in the inlet this morning after many days of rain, then all hell broke loose, all I could hear was lawn mowers&weed eaters roaring away burning carbon and cutting that evil grass. I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed but once you sew the seeds this stuff just keeps growing, slash it, mow it as much a you like but this dam stuff just grows back. People spend a lot of there free time cutting this evil weed. On weekends when they should be relaxing, these suckers are out there doing battle with the Grass, there seems no point, perhaps I am missing something here, but I doubt it. My neighbor pete says he loves the smell of cut grass, I think that's because the smell of cut grass means he won't have to mow the dam stuff for a while.
As a kid I used to have to mow the lawns at home, this is where I started to think about this evil weed wasting my life away, do you know the Americans burn about 400 million gallons of fuel per year mowing there lawns, now I'm not implying anything, but 400,000,000 gallons to mow something that "wait for it" will only grow again and then need to be mown all over again I just can't see the point.
The machines they mow the evil grass with are so inefficient compared to a car, something like 16 times less efficient, so the yanks are pissing about three hundred and seventy five million gallons of petrol against the wall every year. Seems to me people are throwing money away all over the place, so how about throwing some my way people, I have a paypal on my web site if you are feeling generous. Friends will say here he goes again climate change yardie yardie yar, well I have been feeding my neighbors chickens the last couple of days and I can tell you if you keep shitting in your own nest you end up living in a pile of it!

Here is a picture of my lawn, I tell people this is what happens when you don't mow your lawn, beautiful isn't it.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_4GA0Cfh4aa4/TJHMZMGRwUI/AAAAAAAAADk/SUBZSAKFR0M/s400/IMG_0311.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5517415751621919042" />

Tennis

While suffering at my mothers the last week the US tennis open has been going on, now I used to be a sports fan 'once upon a time' (sounds like one of those nursery rimes they used to feed us as kids). How these days I have real problems watching any kind of sport (some will say I have problems, others will say it's my imagination and I need help) I would say the people watching tennis are the ones needing help and the rest of you can p___ off!, but I digress, Tennis has to be one of the most stupid games ever, and the people that play it should be locked up with people that watch it, (perhaps they already are) they must be insane lets face it, from a distance or even close up this game is complete madness, we have two people sometimes four standing on a flat surface with some lines drawn on it with a net between them, then give them a couple of balls, yes balls, the things we throw for dogs to chase, but in this case the people are going to hit them with a racket across the net, not a dog in site, but you could argue the people playing tennis have about the same IQ though and the people watching even less. On with the game, the ball is then hit over the net and then the person hits it back over the net. People pay huge sums of hard earned cash to watch this going on, you have to wonder how hard is it to make money really if all you can find time to do with it is spend it watching people hitting a little green ball over a net, hold the phone the people that get really good at hitting the green ball over the net are payed huge sums of money (any wonder as they must be bored out of there minds). If someone from another planet just happened to arrive at the Tennis, before we got a chance to find out where they came from they might die of laughter, perhaps this is what the game is all about, it's really is a defense against alien invasion, we are hoping they will all laugh themselves to death, I just think they will take one look and say NO sign of intelligent life down here lets try somewhere else.

Stuck in the city

Well I made it down to the city (christchurch) to 'work' no less, yes I am a fool or maybe a horse, proably not a horse as these animals don't like me and have a habit of throwing me off.

I have been saying with my mother! yes we are still talking, just. This has been one of the longest weeks of my life, people are always complaining "where does the time go" they say, well I have the answer 'a week with your mother' will stretch that week right out.

Seems the sounds are getting under my skin (yes I'm getting soundsy) which basically means I now wear save-mart cloths and can't stand going to town. I find the city is so cold now and it has nothing for me anymore. I always was a country boy at heart or maybe it's just i don't like people that much and they are everywhere down here and they are breeding, I don't think any of them have a clue way they are breeding, I know but I'm not telling. The main problem I have at the moment is work and finding a way to do of little of it as possable, I have been thinking if I could get away with just 3 months work a year that would be about right, so 3 months work, 3 months pig hunting, 3 months fishing, 3 months talking bullshit, sounds like a full year to me.

Only fools and horses work

I don't know where I ever used to find the time to work, funny system we have, the more you make, the more you seem to spend, and you just never seem to have enough. "school work die" about sums it up, well these days I only work when I have time and lately with this pig hunting caper getting more fun by the day there hasn't been much work going on I can tell you.

When I woke in the night I could here a morepork, so that was a good sign as if you take it apart you get "more pork' and thats what we got this morning. My old mate Porkchop put us onto a new spot today.

Up at 0530 , big breakfast and let Goldie off the chain, got the boat in the water, pete arrived at 0700 with Smoke and Jack, so off we went, lovely morning and the water was flat as a pancake, tied up at the jetty then straight up the hill, a hard climb but easy going as we where on a track after about an hour Smoke took off, there was a bit of pig sign about so I thought I would let Goldie lose, Smoke started bailing down the hill and then we heard a pig grunt just down from us, he must have been sneaking off and smelt us, anyway Smoke and Goldie where way down the hill bailing and Jack was off after the other pig we think (He is a hard dog to like Pete would say), me and Pete went down hill and followed Smoke&Goldie, then the barking stopped, 'bugger', we couldn't work it out, some times the pigs swim for it, but think this one just gave them the slip. Goldie came back and then Smoke so we where not very happy, then Smoke and Goldie where off again and I followed, Pete went back up the hill to look for jack, I was running as there was a nice track around the shore, I had lost the dogs on the tracker but picked them up again about 500 meters away, I could see the pig tracks on the track and the dog tracks following so was hoping they had caught up with it, on I ran and then when I was about 200 m away I heard the barking Smoke&Goldie had a good bail going down from the track in a little gully, down I went it was thick as and I couldn't see anything just lots of barking and the pig grunting, it was so thick I was a bit worried about getting ripped by the pig, then it must have censed I was near and made a break for it down the gully, it was a little more open down further and I could see it was a good size pig, Smoke&Goldie had an ear each and where tucked in beside its body, this is the safest place for the dogs, as the pig cant get at them, I grabbed it by the back leg put my weight on it, then got my knife and stuck it. 110lb sow on the hook, she is very fat and will be great eating . Pete's new boat

Firstly I would like to say that over the last few years we have had some wonderful girls move into the inlet, now I have spent the better part of my life running from females, and I'm not suggesting that the sudden influx of women has anything to do with me living here of-course☺.

Up at 0530, we had plans to bring Pete's new boat down from the head of the inlet today, problem was we had to bring the trailer over water (or should that be under water) and as there are no roads out here, this created a small problem, more about that later.
Pete thought while we where up there we may as well go for a pig hunt, Mathea one of these lovely girls I was talking about was keen to come, so meet me down at the boat shed at 0700, we took the boat up to the head of the inlet to meet Pete with his four wheeler and the dogs, then we headed up to Garey's place, that's where the new boat was, I told Mathea on the way up the inlet that we will be doing the lady's hunt today, but Pete had other ideas and straight into the gorse and shitty scrub we went, Pete has been hunting for years, if he was a dog he would have been a gun finder, so after 30 min's of climbing Smoke the four legged finder had disappeared and then started barking, Jack the other dog was off, Pete gave me a radio and was off after them, they where baling down by the paddock, I had Goldie on a lead, as she is in training at the moment, she dragged me off my feet at one stage keen to get to the bail, me and Mathea made our way down hill the barking had stopped and as you can see by the picture of Two gun Mathea, Pete had a nice 60 pound sow for the pot.
We Later towed Petes new boat, with trailer still attached down the inlet to his place, so it was a good day all around.
<img style="display:block; Now my last dog Red was the biggest pot licking, wandering, mongrel you ever have meet, he had children all over Christchurch and I swore I would never get another. Now that reminds me of a story, I was delivering flyers one day push biking around the neighborhood with Red wandering along when a guy I new came out of his house and asked "is that your f-----ing mongrel?" turned out he had cleared this guys six foot back fence and impregnated his pure bread Rottweiler that he was about breed, I rode off quickly, what can you say 'act of god', another time I left him with my mother and she was out walking him, he comes out of her neighbors driveway with their cat in his mouth, this dog liked more than one kind of pussy, the cat died of fright I think.
So I am asking myself what do you think your doing getting another dog (bitch) female dog, plus I should know better than to take anything that my mate pork chop is giving away, he has been known to be very hard on his gear,(although not his dogs) in-fact he really should be a test pilot, because he is a 'if he can't break it then I would recommend you buy it kind of guy'.

Anyway meet Goldie, she has a million dollar view according to Judith and hopefully will cost me a little less, her name Goldie is a bit ominous though.
<img style="display:block; So glad to be out of that horrible place, the Mariner there was just a few piles really, as there is a swell in the Harbor day&night the boat is working all the time, creak.......creak......creak...... enough to drive you mad, as much as you want to leave the boat, you don't dear as it feels like the Bollards will be ripped from the deck or the line chafe through at any moment, as happened one night. Being on the pile moorings in Lyttleton is the worst place I think I have stayed, this comes a close second.
So 100 nautical miles approximately to the South arm of port hardy.
It was a good sail motor/sail, 3/4 meter swell with confused sea and light west, south/west wind, arrived 0800 and fished for a while, Blue Cod fillets for lunch.
I am now anchored in Philante bay in the South arm, and intend to stay here for a few days. This is my favorite Anchorage on D'Urville Island in-fact my favorite anchorage full stop.
It's so untouched here the beach trees come right down to the shore line, I was just thinking what a mess humans make of things, this place is untouched and more beautiful than anything that we could ever hope to build, there are so few places left to anchor your boat now where Man's ugly hand hasn't made a mess of things.

So I will have to swallow my pride and call my dream off for another year, my back is not in that good a shape, and as we are almost half way through june now, I have really missed the boat, I will get over it in a couple of days here I'm sure.
So its back to the beautiful inlet for the winter not so bad really!
If you are a brave man you will do nothing: if you are fearful you may do much, for none but the cowards have need to prove their bravery. Some will tell you that you are mad, and nearly all will say, 'What's the use?' For we are a nation of shopkeepers, and no shopkeeper will look at Research which does not promise him a financial return within a year. And so you will sledge nearly alone, but those with whom you sledge will not be shopkeepers: that is worth a good deal. If you march your Winter Journeys you will have your reward, so long as all you want is a penguin's egg.

Restrung the guitar last night

Someone once said, 'The first inhabitants of Wellington where blown in the harbor and couldn't get out'.
Well thats how I feel at the moment, a high of 11deg here today rainy&windy and don't think I will be going anywhere till late next week.
Keep warm .

Sore back in wellington

Hi I have finally worked out how to use this blog, so on with the story. Anyway finally got out of there and over to wellington a few days later and have been here ever since, that being six days, the back is feeling much better and hope to leave here on monday, not sure how far north I will get but Tuhua Island (Mayor island) off Tauranga would be nice, as one of my favorite spots and will stay there for a day on two on the way north at some stage.
Starting to get a little cabin fever here in welly, there are so many people here, someone needs to tell them that there are other colors you can buy cloths in other than Black.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_4GA0Cfh4aa4/S_4kLokSyQI/AAAAAAAAAAM/XliZRY_6RA0/s320/DSC03368.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5475853979215907074" />

Up and running

Hi everyone this is my first blog post and am very excited about sailing to vanuatu this southern winter my web site will be up and running soon and in the mean time I can be contacted at bluewsc@gmail
